Hawke’s Bay is teeming with incredible biodiversity - from rocky shores and estuaries to streams and coastlines, every habitat is home to remarkable creatures. But can you spot them all?
This April, put your observation skills to the test with ‘Hide & Seek’, a special collaboration between the National Aquarium and renowned author and illustrator Ned Barraud. As you explore, you’ll discover large-scale illustrations of local and familiar habitats, newly created by Ned just for this experience - but look closer! Hidden within are insects, fish, birds, and other taonga (treasured) species waiting to be found.
Keep searching as you move through the aquarium - six elusive species have also been tucked away, waiting to be uncovered. Grab an activity sheet, and record your discoveries to go in the draw to win a cool prize pack - including a family Friend of the Aquarium membership and a guided tour!
Ready to start your search? The creatures of Hawke’s Bay are waiting!
