BLUCK'S PIT

This beach is great for fishing for snapper, it’s not uncommon for 10kg plus snapper to be caught as well as all sizes right down to school snapper. This is a very quiet beach.

Make sure to wear footwear if you are going on a hot summer day, as the black sand heats up and can be scorching hot.

This beach is not safe for swimming.

DIRECTIONS

From Wairoa, head towards Gisborne on SH2 for approximately 29kms. Then turn right onto Bluck’s Pit Road. Follow the straight road and then turn right onto a narrow unsealed road to get to the small carpark. A short walk over the sand dunes will lead you to the beach.
