The Linden Singers Choir presents "A curious collection of songs" in it's concert on November 17th. Why "curious" you ask? Our wonderful conductor, Jane Pierard says she has chosen this mix of music for the concert because she wants each person present to hear at least one song that seems chosen just for them - so they leave having had a reminder of something they’ve loved hearing or experiencing in their life. The choir is enjoying putting the finishing touches on this selection of interesting songs, learning texts in Spanish, French, German, Latin Russian, English and te reo Maori, and singing styles ranging from beautiful anthems to bossa nova, classical to contemporary, and a couple of fun items. And we will be inviting the audience to sing along with the choir in some familiar favourites, including – of course – some Christmas Carols.
You will also hear some of our talented choir members singing solos or playing the instruments they use most often in their lives. Don’t miss this hour of happiness!
The Linden Singers Choir is a long-established choir, having been founded by the late Basil Brooker in the early 1970s. The choir is delighted to be presenting its' fifth concert under the direction of well-known Hawke's Bay conductor, actor, theatre director and all-round musician Jane Pierard.
