Scinde Lodge Historical Open Day

Free
Scinde Lodge Historical Open Day

For over 166 years Napier's Scinde Lodge has been part of our community and as the city celebrates 150 years of governance we open our doors so you can explore the history of the Lodge and Freemasonry in Napier.

Scinde Lodge was established in 1858 and you'll recognise many notable names from Napier's early and recent history from all sectors of society, including former Mayors, bishops, business leaders, labourers, engineers and even an All Black!

You'll have a chance to look inside the Lodge room and read about the officers of the Lodge, view historical displays, items and photos from our history. Discover the history of our masonic side orders including Napier's Victoria Royal Arch Chapter established in 1879, and learn about modern Freemasonry and our charitable work in the community.
