Napier’s beloved New Year’s Eve celebration returns to the iconic Soundshell on Marine Parade, promising an unforgettable night of music, community, and fireworks as we welcome 2025!
Headlining this year is Hands Off, one of Auckland’s most beloved covers bands. With 25 years of experience since their formation in 1999, Hands Off knows how to bring the party. Recognised for their stellar performances, Hands Off won the Variety Artists Club of NZ Showcase Award in 2022. While proudly New Zealand-based, their talent has taken them as far as Australia, Fiji, and even Thailand.
Joining the lineup is an incredible mix of talent:
Phil Edwards Band, moving audiences with honest and soulful music since their inception in 2009 with brand new music releases on the horizon for 2025.
Danica Bryant & the Band, a pop-folk powerhouse with a raw rock edge, hailing from Napier but now gracing stages all over Wellington.
El’ Goobers, a five-piece Hawke’s Bay rock band with endless energy and stage presence.
The celebrations kick off at 7 PM, and the night includes two stunning fireworks displays—an early show at 9:45 PM for the young ones and the main event at midnight. Between sets, enjoy food trucks and of course the iconic ringing of the Veronica Bell to welcome in 2025.
This alcohol-free event is brought to you by Napier City Council, Smokefree and Littlestone. Bring your friends & whanau down to celebrate New Year’s Eve by the sea. Rain or shine (unless deemed unsafe), this is the ultimate way to start 2025.
Patrons are reminded there is a liquor ban in place in the CBD, and no fires are to be lit on the beach.
See you there!
