The small carpark is about 9kms south of Te Kura Whenua - Visitor Centre on SH38 to Wairoa.
The track rises through rock bluffs and huge boulders in the forest to a platform with a spectacular wide angle view of Lake Waikaremoana, Panekire Bluff and the surrounding forest.
Don’t forget your camera to capture the amazing views. If possible visit Lou’s Lookout at different times of the day - it’s amazing to see the different views depending on the time of the day and the everchanging weather.
